Hello! Amber is from the US and is Linguajoy Education Coordinator and Linguajoy English Club teacher. Amber has lived in Finland for the past 5 years (originally from Wimberley, TX). She is currently working on her dissertation for her Ph.D. in cognitive load theory and language learning. Her other degrees include three undergraduate degrees in mathematics, English, and secondary education pedagogy (from Molloy College in New York), two master’s degrees in educational psychology and English language learning (from Capella University in Minnesota). She has over 15 years of teaching experience and has taught all around the world. Her hobbies include singing, reading, and writing. She uses her background in math and science to engage the students in critical thinking, as well as bringing her love of music to the language learning classroom through singing with her students. She is joined in Finland by her husband and two fur-babies (Arabian Maus rescued from Kuwait, who spend ample time sleeping in the sun or lounging on the radiators during winter). Hope to see you soon!
